Carpinus betulus (European Hornbeam) is a deciduous, medium-to-large tree, often used for dense hedging, pleaching, or as a shade tree, characterized by smooth grey, fluted bark and a slow growth rate. It features ovate, serrated, prominently ribbed dark green leaves that turn yellow-orange in autumn and often persist as dry brown leaves through winter.

These pleached trees are perfect for creating more fence height, giving you more privacy. Also looks great with a shorter hedge planted underneath. Evergreen & hardy trees.
